OwieBowWowie and Friends Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that raises funds to comfort the hurts and hearts of children in children's hospitals who have been hospitalzed with a life-threatening illness or injury. Donations to OwieBowWowie and Friends are used to purchase and deliver comfort toys to bedridden children. These specially designed toys provide emotional and psychological support that helps children receive the medical treatment necessary to get well, and are a significant part of their healing.
Founded in 2008 by Gina Gippner-Woods, The OwieBowWowie and Friends Foundation began with a handmade OwieBowWowie that brought comfort to a distressed child recovering from brain surgery. The organization has since evolved into a force of raising funds to provide comfort toys, delivering over 2000 toys to children at children's hospitals.
